Take the Challenge

Spend up to one week in a wheelchair.

Discover what millions of Australians navigate every day.

Raise funds that drive real change.

What You Commit To

As a Wheelie — that’s what we call our participants — you commit to using a wheelchair for up to one week during the Wheelie Week campaign period. You go about your normal routine: work, shopping, socialising, getting around your neighbourhood. The only difference is your perspective.

This isn’t about simulating disability. It’s about experiencing firsthand the barriers built into the environments we all share — and understanding why they need to change.

How Fundraising Works

When you sign up, you’ll get your own fundraising page powered by Raisely. Share it with your friends, family, and colleagues. Every dollar raised goes toward accessibility education, barrier reporting, and inclusive design advocacy.

FAQs

No. We’re working on partnerships to help participants access wheelchairs for the week. More details will be available closer to launch.

You choose – anywhere from one day up to a full week. The longer you commit, the deeper the insight. But even a single day will shift your perspective.

No minimum. Every dollar counts. We encourage you to set a personal goal and rally your network behind it.

We understand the sensitivity. Wheelie Week was co-founded by a person with lived disability experience, and our approach is built on respect, education, and constructive action — not performance. The goal is empathy through experience, and the disability community has been central to shaping this initiative.

The 2026 pilot campaign dates will be announced soon. Register your interest now and we’ll let you know as soon as dates are confirmed.
